Uplifting Stories of Tatto'ed Americans

JumperGirl celebrated her 18th birthday with two additional earpiercings and an eyebrow ornament.  She is also planning a tat, but is acceding to my request that the tat be one of two locations: (a) completely covered by an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weenie bikini or (b) small & below the ankle bone.

I think things are changing.  Skelly, who is a public defender in Washington State, reports that an Olympia police officer has full-sleeve tattoos.  Which he displays in court.  Skelly has been rethinking his tat prejudices (Tat toys for kids?  Not GoodOh but My Colleagues Are Inked Too.)

And then there are the others:

Curtisallgier_1Curtis Allgier is the latest.  Gee, dude, if you are a felon, commit another crime, and don't want to go back to jail....maybe the full-face ink isn't the best idea?

Blunosetatoo_1Meet Michael Eugene Campbell, once of  of Lakewood, CO.   In a small town in California, he and an associate thought they could run through a grocery store, snatching goods without being apprehended.  Oops.

Dionmillam_1 This is Dion Milam, who wears his convictions on his face. In January 2003, Milam was arrested for parole violations.  He is suspected of involvement in the murder of William Wayne Lederle, in a drug deal in Empire, California.s to the upper body.

In June 2003,  Milam was in jail, and his  brother-in-law, Justin Provance, tried to send Milam methamphetamines through the mail. Provance and Milam face charges of conspiracy to transport a controlled substance into jail.

The mug shot was taken after his arrest in January 2003.  Evidently the arrest involved some struggle, the evidence for which appears on Mr. Milam's face.  No further details are available.

Almarudder

The notes I have on this image call her "Alma Rudder", which is almost certainly false.  Darn it annoys me when I don't keep good records.  I'm thinking this is a mug shot.

These are both images of Elaine Davidson, who according to her website, is the Guinness record holder for piercings.

The former nurse from Brazil first broke the record in May 2000, when a Guinness World Records official examined her and found 462 piercings on various parts of her body, including 192 on her facial area alone.

She currently has 3,920 body piercings and tattoos.

BrucepottsFinally, we have...a university professor of communication, Bruce Potts.  He started his tatto career in 1968 .  After he retired from teaching in public schools, he gave in to a life-long yearning to have a full face tattoo. . He said it took about three and a half months to complete.

He said he put off getting the tattoos for many years, but the desire to do it kept nagging at him.
"It was like a haunting," he said. "I like to use that word. It was like a haunting. It just kept coming up and I kept resisting, saying, 'no no no,' and it was like a calm once it was finally completed."

Your really got some scary tattoo pix here, and the piercings ones, my face hurts now...I too wonder why the criminals get tatooos when they KNOW it makes them easier to recognize, well maybe they don't know it, a lot of criminals are stupid.
