Listen to Malcom Nance: Waterboarding is Torture. Period.

I am bewildered at how casually we have thrown off the mantle of world-leader in justice and honor. Who we have become? Because at this juncture, after Abu Ghraieb and other undignified exposed incidents of murder and torture, we appear to have become no better than our opponents.

Who said this, some lily-livered member of the latte-sipping chattering classes?

No.

Malcolm W. Nance is a counter-terrorism and terrorism intelligence consultant for the U.S. government’s Special Operations, Homeland Security and Intelligence agencies. A 20-year veteran of the US intelligence community's Combating Terrorism program and a six year veteran of the Global War on Terrorism he has extensive field and combat experience as an field intelligence collections operator, an Arabic speaking interrogator and a master Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) instructor.

I was directed to the Small Wars Journal, and Malcolm Nance's essay Waterboarding Is Torture....Period, by another member of the Armed Forces, Terry Karney, in this post.

I'm incredulous about the idea that anyone could think otherwise. It's just another example of intellectual dishonesty in the name of power grabs.
