I never had been to a viewing before, let alone an open-casket viewing. At one point, Scholar Baby was getting fussy, and I took him and walked around the outside of the funeral home. He fell asleep, and I went back inside. Few things are as peaceful as holding a sleeping baby.
Holding SB made it easier to talk to people. I could introduce SB as "Jacques' grandson."
After the viewing, we repaired to Drummer Man & La Novia's house, where those who loved Jacques told some great stories.

365 Days of Grace in Small Things--Sleeping Babies and Telling Stories
I never had been to a viewing before, let alone an open-casket viewing. At one point, Scholar Baby was getting fussy, and I took him and walked around the outside of the funeral home. He fell asleep, and I went back inside. Few things are as peaceful as holding a sleeping baby.
