Ten days ago, I thought regular life was going to resume soon.
Some regularity has resumed -- I'm back to Los Ayudantes (which is challenging and enlightening), I'm back in the 5th grade classroom Wednesday and Friday afternoons, and I've made plans for more classroom time.
At the present moment, all my clothes are clean. And I have a bunch more clothes, which I needed.
Tomorrow I get to cuddle my grandson. I haven't called Scholar Man & Scholar Woman in 14 days -- they needed some time off from relatives. Scholar Woman in particular pulled hard duty Dec. 24-Jan. 10.
But regular life is still a ways off. Mostly in good ways -- I get to hang out with guys who are Jacques' friends, in Jacques' favorite place, preserving and advancing Jacques' legacy.
Jacques' memorial service is March 2, at 4 pm, at Stanford Memorial Church. There's a reception afterward--Denise Sobel, Jacques' sister, is planning it. The food and so on will be very Jacques-esque.
