Here's what I wrote in 2004:
One year ago today I began this blog. I'd been thinking about it for quite a long time, but was hampered by the lack of easy access. I'm easily frustrated by technology that doesn't work, and didn't care for Blogger. I wanted to use Moveable Type, but that would have involved changing ISPs. Since I've had the same email address for over 7 years, I didn't want to change that, either, so elected to just wait for TypePad. I wasn't something enough to be a really early adopter, but jumped on the first week in December, 2003. Here are a few of first day's posts:
- In Which I Introduce Myself;
- a look at Extreme Gardening;
- Wild animals--Beavers Within Commuting Distance of Google--and TypePad too;
- A Cure for Intrusive Thoughts
- A Meme Goes Round and Wrong: How to Sing the Blues;
- and my favorite sport explained, What is Dressage (I should go back and add photos);
- supporting literacy in the 3rd world.

Happy blogoversary..yes, your work is so appreciated. kind of odd story...a while back on skepticdads blog, there was a discussion on head lice. (here is the odd part) My kids have brought home head lice-and for years-I couldn't find anyone to tell me what caused it, where it came from. Sometimes I can perseverate..:) It really bothered me that no one could tell me. Anyway, you came along, suggested where I could enquire, how to go about it..and I got my answer. It made my day. I know, strange story...but I figured as this is your blogoversary..;0
