I was fortunate enough to see an advance viewing of the exhibit of works from the Musée d'Orsay, Birth of Impressionism at the de Young Museum in San Francisco last week. This is a magnificent exhibit.
Here's an interview with Michael Krasney, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco director John Buchanan and Musée d'Orsay president Guy Cogeval.
The point of the exhibition is to provide a visual representation of the evolution of art in France, starting about 1874.
Here is an audio tour of the exhibit:I found three treasures new to me:
The Floor Scrapers 1875 Gustave Caillebotte (1875)
The family of Jean-le-Boiteaux, Peasants from Plougasnou, Jean-Francois Raffaëlli (1876)
The Magpie, Claude Monet (1868-1869)
So go and enjoy. You can get tickets here.

I went with my Mom, sisters and niece, and we enjoyed! Even though it was a members' preview it was crowded, and several of us have mobility issues, so we'll go back again, and probably again. It really is an excellent exhibit. Highly recommended.

I actually went there with my family, and the entire exhibit was really wonderful! I've also talked with some of the organizers and the owners of the museum. They told me that with the help of nonprofit fundraising software, they may be able to get funds properly to make every exhibit more amazing. Other museums are now also into accounting nonprofit software, not only for the museum itself, but as well as their employees.
