Crocodiles, iPads & Buffalo Wranglers ………………………. Diary of an Oral Language Coach - Evidence Based Learning.
I have been interested in the work of John Hattie, Robert Marzano and Geoff Petty in trail blazing this journey of evidence based learning. Geoff Petty’s new book ‘Evidence Based Teaching’ summarizes research and gives practical details on which teaching methods that work best and how to use them. He says there are two main steps for improvement in teaching:
1. Find your areas of strength and weakness and work on these. (SWOT sheet)
2. Active Learning and Feedback – learners need information on what they do well, and how to improve, then they need to act on this.
