On May 1 2013, I had the delight of roaming about San Francisco with my niece, Naomi Sobel, who was in town for a series of Astraea and family events. It was a beautiful, balmy day, and as we ankled about, we spotted the Samovar Tea Lounge.
As we were getting peckish, we stopped in. We shared an order of delicous squash dumplings. Naomi ordered the Paleolithic Tea Service with Smoked Duck, but I forget the kind of tea she had. It was brilliantly green, at any rate. I had the Russian Service with Tolstoy’s Sip Black Tea. Both were delicious.
Not for everyday, but a lovely afternoon of noshing and talking.
