Ann Goodwin Ditz, 70, a resident of Menlo Park, died Jan. 29, 1995
Born in Los Angeles, she graduated in 1945 from Stanford, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Named Young Woman of the Year in 1954 by the San Jose Chamber of Commerce, she was the first president of the San Jose Volunteer Bureau, a member of the San Jose Service League, a board member of the Visiting Nurses of Santa Clara County, and Community Welfare Council. She belonged to the Junior Leagues of Palo Alto, San Francisco and Los Angeles, was active with the Valley Auxiliary of the Family Service Association of San Mateo County and served on the Peninsula Ball Committee. She was a member of the Woodside/Atherton Garden Club, the Menlo Country Club, Town and Country Club and San Francisco Club. She is survived by four daughters, Susan Ditz of Foster City, Elizabeth Ditz of Portola Valley, Nancy Ditz of Woodside and Janet Ditz of Redwood City; two sisters; four grandchildren; two step-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. The family requests donations to the Family Service Association of San Mateo County or the American Diabetes Association. Services have been held.
