Tangerine is a remarkable novel.  It is stuck in the Young Adult ghetto, being narrated by a boy entering middle school, but it is a remakably mature novel of secrets uncovered, hidden strengths cultivated, and the courage to speak.

I am a teacher in Florida. I chose to read "Tangerine" by Edward Bloor to see if it would be a good book to read to my 8th graders next year. I am a remedial reading teacher and am always looking for a book that will grab my audience. I have read many great books, but none that have given me that "This is it!" feeling. That is until "Tangerine." This was such a wonderful book. Mr. Bloor lives here in Florida and I would love for him to come and speak to my 8th graders after we have read the novel. If you anyone knows how I can ask this of him, please let me know. "Tangerine" is a powerful book that I know will catch my students and leave them begging for more at the end of the class period. I am also on a quest to purchase 25 copies of this novel for a classroom set. Please let me know if you know of any good deals!

I am an eighth grader and I read this book three times in a day. I know it sounds insane but I fell in love with it. Thats how good Tangerine was. I read so many books but nothing like this. This book is my favorite book of all time. I reccommend this book to anyone of any age.

As well as Tangerine, Edward Bloor has written another book as well called "Crusader". It is very good, I might add, and quite a bit longer than Tangerine. If anyone else is reading this post, I recommend the book highly.
