I was speaking to my mother, who is now 85, about entitled children. She said back in her day, while their family was dirt poor (depression and 13 kids), the didn't know it. Everyone around them was poor.

Today, with television, the internet, kids know what others have, and of course they want it too. I think parents need to come up with new strategies for rearing children to deal with that.
