Neat graphic... there is a truly frightening version of this at the American Museum of Natural History, where they plotted concentrations of 1 million people as bright dots on a world map. The population explosion that occurs is truly frightening. I would like to see it slowed down to get a better look at how the growth took place - I'm particularly interested in what happened when empires and civilizations collapsed, to see if the population spread elsewhere or if the people simply disappeared. It's also interesting to watch the effects of colonialism in the New World - very stunning. And scary.
