The following bills are examples of the legislation promoted by Suburban Caucus Members:
Deleting Online Predators Act, blocks access to sites and requires school libraries to monitor the internet activities and implement technology to protect children from accessing potentially harmful sites and gives parents information and new tools to protect their children from these sites
H.R. 4894: School Safety Acquiring Excellence Act, provides additional databases to enable schools to do more extensive background checks on teachers and school employees. H.R. 4894 passed the House, largely unnoticed, as part of the Child Safety Act.
H.R. 5314, the 401Kids Family Savings Act of 2006. 401Kids accounts would expand 529 savings options to permit tax-free savings for each child's college education, a first home or to start a business.
HR 5291, The Gang Elimination Act of 2006 – Requires the Attorney General to identify the gangs threatening the United States and to submit to Congress a detailed strategy to eliminate these gangs within four years.
H.R. 5056, Encouraging Charitable Donations for Open Space and Conservation Purposes – create tax easements to encourage charitable contributions of real property for conservation and open space purposes.
