Yesterday, the FDA approved Gardasil.
I am a cervical cancer survivor. I will vaccinate my daughter, and I will urge every young person I know to get vaccinated -- males and females. Why? Herd immunity, that's why.
Yes, it is expensive -- but a lot less painful and expensive than my treatment.
Coathangers at Dawn has an outline of the political resistance to Gardasil.

It enrages me that alleged Christians advocate withholding this vaccine in the name of stamping out "promiscuity." Cervical cancer is not caused by a confusion about values. This inability to actually THINK about the positions that one espouses makes me want to scream.
If we can alleviate cancer, we should DO IT! Idiots!

Your personal testimony is more powerful than you know. My grandmother was also a cervical cancer survivor and I can assure you that she was never promiscuous. I hesitate to lump the opponents of the vaccine in a group called "christians". I would more likely call them "fanatical rightists", because Christians would not be so unloving and stupid.
