1. Don't just read the recipe, think about it.
2. If it doesn't taste good, don't eat it.
I don't usually buy raw spinach, as it doesn't agree with me and Jumper Girl doesn't like it. My sister had left a bunch of food in the refrigerator for me, including a pound of raw baby spinach. So I looked in the Joy of Cooking and thought the panned spinach looked good. What was I thinking? Three tablespoons of oil for a pound of spinach? I ended up squeezing the cooked spinach in several layers of paper towels to reduce the amount of fat.
It tasted good, but still didn't agree with me.
Or maybe it was the orange juice. It tasted a little off, but throw out fresh-squeezed juice?
