I keep thinking about Larry King and Brandon McInerney and their families. You should read Karoli's open letter to SaveOurKids, an astroturf lobbying group against California's SB 777.
Short said the suspect [now identified as Brandon McInerney] used to be in her honors English class. She did not identify him but said he was "a bright kid."
The suspect's grandfather, William McInerney, said he had no idea where his grandson might have gotten a gun. He said his grandson has lived in his Oxnard home for a couple of years and is a good kid.
I keep thinking about Daniel Parmenter, Catalina Garcia, Ryanne Mace, Julianna Gehant, Gayle Dubowski, and Stephen Kazmierczak and their families.
Kazmiercazk's sister:
“We are both shocked and saddened,” the note said. “In addition to the loss of innocent lives, Steven was a member of our family. We are grieving his loss as well as the loss of life resulting from his actions.”
Late Friday, the authorities here still were piecing together the hours leading up to Mr. Kazmierczak’s rampage in a search, in part, for some explanation of how someone seemingly so unlikely had committed such violence.
Stephen Karlson, an assistant professor of economics at NIU, blogs at Cold Spring Shops, has been blogging: It Can Happen Here, the incident, reaction on campus, and the memorial service.
The NIU website has a memorial page.
Sinner, your fear (phobia) is misplaced. Stop fearing Man. Fear God who can destroy both your body and your soul.
