The state of being wrong at every conceivable scale of resolution. That is, from a distance, a fractally wrong person's worldview is incorrect; and furthermore, if you zoom in on any small part of that person's worldview, that part is just as wrong as the whole worldview.
The phrase was coined by Keunwoo Lee. I learned it from Codeman38 at Normal is Overrated, who used it to refer to J.B. Handley's spewings on Larry King's show.
Joseph at Natural Variation wants to know: JB Handley - Poorly Informed or Outright Liar?
My impression is that JB Handley is either completely misinformed about some basic facts having to do with autism epidemiology, or he decided to go on Larry King to simply lie with a straight face.
April Fools of the month on Larry King tonight: Jenny McCarthy, Jim Carrey, Jerry Kartzinel and JB. Handley (of Generation Rescue) — yet again in the “name of autism” or to “wage a war” on it as it were, are STILL purporting their vaccine hypothesis — which, really, is no longer deserving of being in that category, since it has been disproven over and over again. The “bulking” of vaccines or the “schedule” — all of it — are, according to science, not the cause of autism. Yet science doesn’t seem to matter in all of this. People do not matter in all of this. Not the people who matter, anyway.
I should have seen it coming. April is Autism Awareness month, and since I first discovered the issue I noticed that the antivaccine movement always cranks up the crazy in April. Always.
Update March 8, 2010. Following a vile attack on Shannon, her son, and the rest of her family at a blog I will not name or link to, Shannon has given me permission to post this. It is hardly a secret that Squid is Shannon Rosa. Shannon Rosa is an autism advocate not only for her son and her family, but for all parents of children with autism and all people with autism. Read her blog at BlogHer: Shannon Rosa's Blog
