Let's imagine a middle school (for non USians, that is the 7th, 8th & 9th year of schooling, and students typically are between 11 and 15 years of age, depending on how old were when they started kindergarten).
What would the ideal STEM curriculum cover? Not just knowledge, but skills?

Let's say you, as curriculum designer, have the freedom to ignore state standards, and don't really have to worry about what the follow-on institutions (high schools) expect, either.
