AutismOne Again Ejects Peaceful, Non-Disruptive Registered Attendees, This Time With Armed Police Officers from Local Force

Ken Reibel, who writes Autism News Beat, was expelled from the "autism can be cured" expo AutismOne in 2008. Update: Trine Tsouderos, a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, was expelled from the event in 2009. A department of health employee from a western state, and later, an independent filmmaker, were expelled in 2010.  In 2010 2008, Reibel was denied admission to a similar event update organized by a different group with similar views.

This year's AutismOne event was held in Lombard, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.

Yesterday, May 28 2011, Reibel and Vice President of Women Thinking Free Foundation Jamie Bernstein (of  Hug Me I'm Vaccinated fame)  were escorted from the premises by four armed on-duty Lombard policemen* and three hotel security guards.

 

*update from Ken Reibel  Lombard's police force = 53 officers.  4/53= 7.5% of the force. Who paid for the officers' presence?

Update: A reporter from the Chicago Tribune was also expelled on Friday May 27 2011

I wanted to highlight Prometheus's comment at Autism News Beat

“Trash talking”? Susie has apparently not been to any scientific or technical conferences before. In those conferences, people are continually “trash-talking” about hypotheses that they don’t feel are adequately supported by the data. In the case of “Autism One”, that would include just about everything apart from the speakers’ names and the clock.

I don't quite agree with the "just about everything"part -- there were some evidence-based presentations such as The First Responders Session but the majority were..woo-ful.
