We are getting more information on the 2 year-old child that drowned in the Muskingum River this past weekend. The Akron Beacon Journal says that the child is identified as Andrew “Drew” Howell. He went missing Saturday and the family later found him in the river. The family was staying in a cabin near the river by Dresden. The newspaper says the child was autistic.

The mother of the child says Drew wandered away from the cabin and must have headed straight to the river, about 100 yards away. She said she turned her attention away for no more than 30 seconds.

The Muskingum County Prosecutor is considering possible charges in the case.

What frightened me is that one of my kids was sleepwalker. I had a fear of him leaving the house at night. Especially after the one morning when he was five years old I found him asleep in the office that is right off of the front door.
