I have the clearest memory of Donna Schwartz Mills (SoCalMom) , pictured to the left, at BlogHer05 (#1) -- we fell to talking about public school iniquities, of all things, and I felt an immediate connection.
Over the years, I've kept up with her, mostly through her blog and
So when I ran into her at lunch, I was delighted.
She was sitting with her sister Linda Schwartz, who I had not met before, but again, delighted.
Donna and Linda have launched a new joint blog, Two Drinks Away. They are both about to graduate from having kids at home (I loathe the expression"empty nesters") and are wondering where the next chapter will take them.

For several years now, my sister and I have toyed with the idea of doing a project together. We actually started one last year, but the concept was fuzzy and never quite gelled. “Two Drinks Away” is a second attempt to create a space where we can hash out the things we’re thinking about and even have a conversation of sorts… much as we would if we were living in the same town and chatting over coffee… or cocktails.
Because in our experience, the answers always seem to lie just Two Drinks Away.
Donna and Linda are very different in personality and in approach to life. I am looking forward to following them on their journey.
Liz, I was so happy we met up again this weekend. When you think about it, it's really quite amazing that so many of us have forged friendships after that fateful BlogHer experience in '05. xoxo
