16) the anti-vaccine movement isn't new, and wasn't born from Jenny McCarthy. It began soon after vaccines were introduced and outbreaks in recently vaccinated populations raised questions as to the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.

Discussion:

#1 "The anti-vaccine movement isn't new"  True-ish. There's not a monolithic anti-vaccine movement with organizational links to previous organizations and leagues, but rejection of vaccines have existed since the practice began. #2 "Jenny McCarthy did not create the anti-vaccine movement". No, it far-predated McCarthy's 2007 Oprah appearance, as the timeline at The History of Vaccines showed. (McCarthy failed to monetize her earlier belief that her son was not autistic, but an "Indigo Child".) And McCarthy abandoned her anti-vaccine crusade in 2015 or thereabouts.  OBJECTIVE FACT

#3 The anti-vaccine movement began soon after vaccines were introduced. True. What is surprising is how resistant the various movements and leagues have been to evidence intended to calm their unfounded fears. OBJECTIVE FACT

"Outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases in recently vaccinated populations raised questions about vaccine safety and efficacy" This is just ahistorical posturing, or the author riding her hobby-horse that vaccines are unsafe and ineffective. Some early opposition was to the legal mandates for vaccination, and other opposition was rooted in health beliefs such as "vaccines weaken the immune system"  THE AUTHOR'S OPINION.<

VERDICT: MIXED, A combination of OBJECTIVE FACT and THE AUTHOR'S OPINION.
